1. Login to your computer


2. At the bottom right hand corner of your screen, there is an internet icon. If you are on wifi, it will look like the top symbol, if you are plugged in, it will look like the red highlighted symbol on the bottom.






3. Whichever icon you have, left click it. You should see a few things at the top of the list, one of them being either 'SHC' or 'Main.' Please click one of these options. Alternatively, you can also find the VPN by going to the windows button on the bottom left of your screen and typing 'vpn,' then selecting 'VPN Settings' when it appears.


4. After you have navigated to the appropriate VPN (either SHC or Main), click on it and select connect.


5. In the box that appears, type your computer username (first initial last name by default) in the top box and your computer password in the bottom. 


6. After you have done so, you should see the VPN you selected (either SHC or Main) with the word Connected written underneath. 


7. Go to your desktop and look for the SHC Remote Desktop icon, pictured below.

This icon should be present on your desktop with the label SHC. Double click it, and in the window that appears, type in your username and password just as before. If you cannot find this icon, please reach out to a member of the IT Department at hylands.freshdesk.com.


8. If any additional prompts appear after typing in your credentials, please select 'Yes,' 'Connect,' or 'Allow' at any of them.


9. This will bring you the remote desktop where the P Drive and NAV will be available.
